I thought I knew what soft and silky felt like but at the Vogue Knitting Expo last January in New York City I came across Muskox yarn also called qiviuk, that is softer than anything I have ever felt before. It comes from the undercoat of the animal and there are now some farms where they are raised. The color assortment was limited but irresistible and, although the price was steep, I couldn’t resist buying just enough to make a scarf. It came from windyvalleymuskox.com and I hope to have the scarf ready by next winter which, if it is as cold as this one was, I will really enjoy using it. What is the softest yarn you’ve ever used?
