Monthly Newsletters

Hello fellow knitters. The blog this week is to let you know about our transition from the weekly blog to a monthly newsletter/ blog. We will be using this transition for many purposes, which we will explain in the first newsletter, which will be sent to you in July. Meanwhile, what have I been doing?

Well, among the changes in the last 20 years in New York that I notice is that there are now many fresh fruit and vegetable stands in most neighborhoods. These stands have quite good prices but often not the freshest product. Mostly, one must plan to use them the same day or one day later which isn’t so bad as I often shop there at the last minute to pick up something I need right now. My local stand is just a block from my building and, as I walk the dog around the block, it is very convenient. So what does this have to do with knitting? Well the owner of this stand, which is open 24 hours a day, has asked me to knit him a hat. I know it is summer but that gives me time to pick a pattern and find some yarn from my stash so he will stay warm this winter. He know me well and he often throws in some “freebies” into my bag so why not?

In preparation for the newsletter, I have been spending more time looking for items to use for writing up reviews that I find interesting and I think you will as well. What do I mean by that? I already have many knitting needles and yet some companies have come up with advances in them. It is hare to believe that there can be new advances and yet I am planning to get and review the “latest” invention in knitting needles. These new things may not really make any difference or perhaps be a real improvement. I look forward to finding out and sharing with you. I am constantly amazed at the ingenuity of people in their ability to invent new things when I thought there was already everything in that area had already been done. More about this will be in the newsletter. I plan to not only write up these items and give you details about them but to try them out. We are hoping to be able to give you discounts on some of them as well.

We will try to make this the “go to” place for a number of things including information, giveaways, free patterns and the latest information on products as well as making selected items available to you directly. We will have tried out any products for review first. Look forward to our first new issue and we hope to get your feedback about it.
